Commissioned for the inaugural Combined Varsity Choir Concert of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District in Texas. This piece, which premiered on May 4, 2023, draws its inspiration from the well-known text in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13 (NIV).
The composition pairs smooth, lyrical vocal lines with a driving piano accompaniment, underscoring the timeless message of love. Central to the piece is a recurring motif built on the word "love," which serves as both a musical and emotional anchor. Special attention is given to key words like "patient" and "kind," encouraging singers to shape these moments with intention and care. The repetition of the "love" theme builds toward the climactic declaration: "Love never fails."
